Decisioning Solutions Succeeds in Becoming Even More Environmentally Conscience
November 27, 2009 - Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Decisioning Solutions, a leading provider of decision technology, already well recognized as a "Green Company", has undergone an internal transformation to deliver greener operations in the 2009 year. Although Decisioning Solutions was designed to be an environmentally friendly company from the onset, an internal committee was created at the beginning of 2009, consisting of a variety of employees from its’ departments and global locations. It was created to develop concrete strategies to reduce the company’s energy consumption and implement environmental improvements during 2009 and going forward.
The committee worked throughout the year developing improvements and implementing new corporate policies to substantially reduce the carbon footprint throughout all areas of the corporation. Various strategies and policies were implemented during 2009 with the focus on making specific changes that would have the greatest and most immediate benefit to the environment.
These commitments were not only substantial but extremely effective as well. All data centers were environmentally updated with significant purchases of energy efficient facility equipment and operational hardware. There were also several changes implemented in our offices such as a reduction in paper usage, a "lights out" policy during non- peak working hours, a mandatory hardware shut down policy and a battery recycling program. In fact, corporate executives also approved a policy completely prohibiting Styrofoam from being on the premises.
Decisioning Solutions is aware of the contribution companies and businesses can have to the declining state of our environment and has put their commitments into action to do their part. The Committee Leader commented, "At Decisioning Solutions we recognize our responsibility as a corporate entity to follow environmentally friendly practices. Efforts like this have a major impact on the environment and we are very proud to have met our goals this year. Our staff and managers were instrumental in the approval and implementation of our ‘Going Greener’ initiative. Our 2009 strategies exceeded our goals and we look forward to new and revolutionary initiatives in the future."
As a result of the changes implemented throughout 2009, Decisioning Solutions was able to reduce approximately 264 tons of CO2 annually which is equivalent of eliminating 116 cars on the road or planting approximately 1,320 trees annually.
