Job Description:
As a key team member, the Senior Statistical
Analyst/Modeller is responsible for predictive
modeling, data mining and data analysis to
identify credit risk, profitable customer segments
and attrition probabilities in multiple
industries. The Senior Statistical
Analyst/Modeller will use industry insight and
significant experience in multivariate statistical
analysis (linear & logistic regression,
categorical analysis, cluster analysis,
statistical sampling, decision trees,
multidimensional scaling, etc.).
Job Responsibilities:

Manage development, test and deployment of
predictive modeling and scoring, segmentation,
targeting, data mining.

Present findings to senior management and
routinely provide status improvement reports.

Serve as a general resource on data analysis,
predictive modeling and data mining techniques.
Advise management, clients, and other business
partners on the effective use of analytical
methodologies. Provide specific expertise in the
areas of acceptable sample sizes.

Demonstrate ability to effectively apply and
manage statistical techniques in a business
setting.
Qualifications:
-
The candidate must have a minimum 3 years’
experience in credit scoring models and/or
direct/database marketing industry experience.
The candidate must also possess a strong,
demonstrated background in applied statistical
analysis, specifically in modeling and target
marketing applications, research design and
analysis.

A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in the
financial services industry an asset.

Solid working proficiency in SAS, SPSS or other
statistical software and analytical tools.

Strong proficiency in SQL.

Basic knowledge in some of the fields of Consumer
Finance, Cash Flow, Credit, Collections, Risk
Management, Database Marketing Data-mining is
valued.

Ability to visually depict analytic results in
PowerPoint and Word.

Experience with client/server data mining
platforms (e.g., SQL Server 2005 Analytical
Services, SAS Enterprise Miner).

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree –
Master’s Degree in Statistics, Quantitative
Management or Economics a definite asset.
