» Java/J2EE Development Project Manager

Job Description:

As a key team member, the Java / J2EE Development Project Manager is responsible for managing and facilitating day-to-day operations within the Development team as well as the interactions of the Development team with other areas. The individual must exhibit extremely broad knowledge of relevant software and processes and demonstrate outstanding problem-solving abilities. The candidate must also have proven experience in an equivalent position with lauded organizational and managerial abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal relation skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the tasks, projects and assignments of the Java Developer team
  • Monitoring IT resource allocation to the projects and PMO
  • Providing technical advice and answers to the senior management
  • Managing the resource allocation for Research (SRED) development claims
  • Continuously improving and policing processes (intra and inter team)

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Computer Science Degree or related educational background
  • Excellent knowledge of design patterns and software architecture best practices
  • Excellent, proven Java, SQL, XML, JSP and Swing skills and experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience, including 2+ years in a Development Project Management role managing teams of 6+ developers
  • Solid SDLC application development experience, Agile experience would be a plus
  • Possess a good sense of how business needs can be met through innovative technology solutions
  • Experience with Release Planning and Data Migration issues
  • 100% proficient English communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • The ability to coordinate multiple resources allocated to multiple projects
  • Ability to identify process gaps and initiate improvement opportunities
  • Good understanding of the solution delivery process
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent PC skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills
